Optimity is excited to announce Doug Paul as our newest advisor working with the leadership team to continue the rollout of our innovative solutions in the insurance sectors.
Doug developed and implemented the first National Account Distribution contract in Canada. Having co-founded Apexa, an industry-standard compliance workbench and he was an early pioneer in MGA channel development. He is the creator and marketer of the “Big Stick Bologna character” on Maple Leaf Wax Bologna, a marketing initiative to reinvigorate an aged brand with a new generation. Over the last 3 decades, he has been a consistent force of modernization and commercialization of big ideas in the insurance industry.
Q. Where do you see the industry going?
I believe consumer engagement is vital to customer experience, brand, and business success. Don’t sell to your customers – instead meet their needs by providing timely solutions to the challenges they identify.
Q. Why are you working with Optimity?
To connect the opportunity of health and well-being consumer engagement with financial services companies, and help them understand how to monetize and optimize.
Q. What expertise are you bringing to Optimity?
I will be bringing distribution and sales channel experience combined with key relationships within the insurance ecosystem. Considering this, I have a deep understanding of interactions between Carriers, Distributors, Advisors, and Consumers. This perfectly brings together my ability to advise on aligning customer, employee, and partner engagement.
Q. Favourite thing about working with Optimity and the ecosystem?
I believe deeply in the value of life insurance to individuals. It is an industry that is steeped in societal benefit and to combine this with the consumers health and well-being is a natural fit.
