Profile: Tina Byers

Tell us about yourself.

I am in investor relations at Adelaide Capital, where we work with a number of Canadian small-cap companies. Outside of work I try to stay active by hiking, cross country skiing, and playing golf when the weather is warm!

What do you consider as your biggest achievement?

My fiancé and I climbed Kilimanjaro a few years ago… it was hard but a great feeling to accomplish something so challenging and check it off my bucket list.

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

Don’t sweat the small stuff and it will all work out in the end!

How do you stay productive and be your best self at work?

I am largely motivated by the people around me and my passion for the companies I work with. I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by go-getters at work and am working with companies who are trying to make a difference in the world, which is a great motivator! Also, coffee.

What’s your top mental health tip for when the going gets tough?

I tend to get overwhelmed when I have a big task ahead. Focusing on taking each task one step at a time really helps me. I also find taking 5 minutes away from my computer to go outside or exercise helps me reset.

What are your top health hacks?

To stay physically active I do online fitness classes (check out Elle Fitness!) but love getting outside when I can. My biggest sleep hack is turning down the temperature before I go to bed!

How do you ensure your personal and/or family’s financial wellness?

Invest, diversify, and save!

What’s your favorite fun activity?

Hiking! I am fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, which has been a great experience so far: https://bit.ly/3r93cut

Who are your female role models and why?

My mom is the obvious choice! She is the most driven person I know. I am also fortunate to be working with a team of driven women at Adelaide Capital and they inspire me to keep working hard and reach new goals.
