Tell us about yourself.
I’m a senior investing partner at Drive Capital, a venture capital firm dedicated to supporting transformative and enduring businesses. I love to meet with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their ideas, and I love that I get to be in a position to help fuel innovators changing the world.
What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Run until tackled. Do big exciting things that scare you.
How do you stay productive and be your best self at work?
Prioritizing sleep and exercise outside of the office, helps me to stay my best while in the office.
I also seek out the opinions of smart people who disagree with me – it helps me to stay sharp and intellectually honest.
What’s your top mental health tip for when the going gets tough?
I think mental frameworks are really critical in dealing with stressful situations. Language matters, even when you’re talking to yourself. So I try to reframe things in a positive way. For example, if I catch myself thinking “this is stressful”, I try to reframe it to “this is exciting/powerful/inspiring”. Or I try to change it from “I have to do this” into “I get to do this”.
I also try to surround myself with people who inspire me to greater heights, which can help with keeping perspective.
What are your top health hacks?
I’m a big believer in keeping healthy snacks around to keep you sustained in a pinch!
For sleep, I try to create an environment that sets me up for success – a white noise machine, closing the blinds, etc.
For being physically active – it always helps me a lot to have workout buddies to keep me accountable. Also, the little workouts still can make a big difference over time!
What’s your favorite fun activity?
Hiking or anything in nature. My husband and I also went with the COVID trend of getting a puppy, which I highly recommend! Playing with our puppy Ted has become a favorite pastime.
