Profile: Kat Utecht
Tell us about yourself.
I am co-Managing Partner of Core Innovation Capital, an early stage venture capital fund with the philosophy of mercenary returns through missionary investments in financial services and insurance technology. I love working with founders, investors, and others in our ecosystem to build better financial products for everyday Americans.
What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Be grateful each day. Life is short so spend precious time on people and activities that matter to you.
How do you stay productive and be your best self at work?
Each day, I get more than eight hours asleep and exercise at least an hour. I give myself time to complete work before going into back to back meetings and then, time at end of day to wrap everything up. Inbox zero is important to me.
What’s your top mental health tip for when the going gets tough?
Nothing is ever as good or bad as it seems and in the end, everything works out. I never take anything too seriously and over index for fun. Fortunately, this attitude has me rarely ever feeling stressed.
What are your top health hacks?
Keep a routine.
What’s your favorite fun activity?
